“A beautiful deadly weapon of war like a little helicopter about to bomb us, a sword about to plunge inside, and yet with humility a bee must die.”
-FREDERICK ROUSSEL
When a bee stings it must die. A bee peacefully flies from flower to flower collecting nectarine, breezing breezilly and going here and there, flying all around.
A bee has one destiny which is to die after a long life, and yet on occasion it must face another fate. It must use its almighty sting and then lose its precious life forever.
A sting given to it for protection, but which unfortunately cannot protect it from then on. A bee does not wish to be cruel, and use its sting, and yet it uses it and consequently it must die.
The cruelty which got made into the sting is the same sting which will take the life of the bee. And so all the harm done is also done to the bee. All the cruelty, harm and pain inflicted is also inflicted on the bee. It is an unusual creature in this way.
We know a shark attacks humans and does so without apology. We know a tiger will eat our legs. We know a snake will poison us if it has to and live on and on. But not so for our friend the bee.
The beautiful bee which flies all around us in summer. All around us as we sometimes create war, as we dine peacefully, as we live and love and at other times hate, a bee is there.
A small silent buzzing takes place among the scented flowers which we place in our lives, flowers to make us feel wonderful and beautiful. Flowers to ignite passion and inspire us to be in love. Flowers which a bee needs to be a bee.
A beautiful deadly weapon of war like a little helicopter about to bomb us, a sword about to plunge inside, and yet with humility a bee must die.
The bee takes its journey out of its own inner and outer harm and is remaking kindness without its deadly fatal sting.
